A Lifetime Ago
By Christina Barba, 2019
In this audio vignette, my mother, Susan Vartanian Barba, shares stories from her early childhood in Tehran, Iran. She spent the first five years of her life in Tehran before she and her parents immigrated to the United States.
Christina Barba is a lawyer and part-time OHMA student at Columbia University. As a granddaughter of an Armenian Genocide survivor, Christina is interested in taking the oral histories of second-generation Armenian genocide survivors and exploring postmemory and memory.
